Question: What do Snoop Doggy Dogg, Blues Traveler, Ru Paul and Ted Nugent have in common with Alabama, Henry Rollins, The Partridge Family and Bette Midler? Answer: All of them have recorded Christmas music.
What? You've never heard any of them? Well now's your chance! As a special "Holiday gift", legendary WHRW DJ "Scott C" will be hosting a twelve hour marathon of holiday music on 90.5fm on December 17th 2007, from 10am to 10pm.
"Rare-y Christmas: The Twelve Hours" is a salute to the "rare, uncommon and underplayed" music of the Holiday season - the stuff you won't hear on any other radio station or on the loudspeakers in any store. Famous artists, alternate takes of Christmas standards, and rare recordings not widely heard by the public will all be featured along with much, much more. And, as always, "Scott C" will give you the stories and interesting facts about the music.
So if the same thirty songs you've been hearing over and over everywhere you go has you wishing Johnny Mathis would just slam that sleigh into a tree, let "Rare-y Christmas" rejuvenate your seasonal spirit with some all new tunes for your ears!
"Rare-y Christmas: The Twelve Hours", hosted by "Scott C" - Monday, 12/17/07, from 10am to 10pm. Only on WHRW, 90.5fm - Binghamton.
